Who Can Join ?
The 43rd is open to boys only it
is not currently a mixed group, the Beavers section is open to boys aged
6-8 yrs, Cubs 8 - 10.5 yrs and Scouts 10.5 - 14yrs. The group is sponsored
by St Thomas of Canterbury Church (Woodford Green) and is limited to boys
who are practising Catholics and from local Parishes.
How do I register
my Son ?
A Registration form is available
in our downloads section, this must be filled in and returned to the
address on the form,
or printed copies can be obtained from the Parrish
office. Receipt of all registrations will be confirmed and names added to the waiting
list.
How can I guarantee he gets in ?
The simple answer is you can't,
the 43rd is a hugely popular group with a lengthy waiting list, to give
your son the best chance possible it is advisable to get on the list as
soon as possible. In this respect the group is similar to many of the
popular primary schools of the area. Most of the boys who join Beavers at
age 6 stay with the group through the sections, this severely limits the
number of places open for the Cubs section at age 8, and the Scout section
at age 10.5, as we guarantee all members a place in the next section.
Can he join a
section without starting at Beavers ?
Although the vast majority of members
come from our Beaver colony there are occasionally places available, boys
offered these places are taken from the waiting list.
Why is there a
waiting list ?
Put simply the 43rd is a very
popular group and each section has a limit on the number of Boys we can
accept, this is due to the number of leaders and physical room / health
and safety.
