Andrew doing the HaKa in the rain!Downpour Fails To Dampen Centenary Camp

Over 200 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Leaders / Helpers and parents joined in our centenary campfire in the Friary grounds as the bank holiday weather did its best to dampen our enthusiasm. Perhaps divine intervention or the vocal skills of ASL Andrew Barrett managed to fend off the rain clouds for just enough time, as we lit our beacon at 8.30pm along with 200,000 other Scouts across the world.

We'll have some photos online soon and can only hope the next centenary event on August 1st brings us a little sunshine!

2 Rivers Hike

There's a hole in our roof dear Liza dear Liza, there's a hole in our roof and we're getting wet! It seems that our trusty hut is need of some running repairs in order to keep the elements our this coming winter and we will be donating part of our sponsorship to the guide dog appeal. So time to put on your walking boots and raise some cash with the 2 rivers hike on June 16th 2007. A sponsorship form can be downloaded from the members section or collected from the leaders.

How is your sponsor form looking? You have just 2 weeks to get it full of donations !!!

St George's Day

Good weather and an excellent turnout for our for the District St George's day parade as our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts parade in front of the mayor of Redbridge.  We even see a rare smile from Rob as the 43rd win the district flag for the best group in Epping Forest South.
